Yvonne Dempsie is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Lead for Pharmacology at Glasgow Caledonian University. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) Pharmacology from the University of Glasgow before gaining her PhD from the University of Nottingham under the supervision of Dr Rob Mason and Dr Sharon Cheetham. Yvonne then took up a post-doctoral position in the lab of Prof Mandy MacLean. Yvonne’s research is focussed on identifying novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension. Yvonne is passionate about promoting science. She is a BPS Ambassador and in this role founded the Glasgow Pharmacological Society in 2015. Yvonne is also a member of the BPS Engagement Committee, a STEM ambassador and Chair of the Scottish Cardiovascular Forum.
